In a game that was a tale of two halves, Wheaton Warreville South survived a stiff test from visiting Geneva in a Class 7A second-round game Friday. The Tigers held on to win 30-16, but the game was much closer than the final score indicated.

It was hard to tell what Glenbard West senior Adam Bruere was more excited about Friday night, the fact the Hilltoppers’ just completed their second straight undefeated regular season, or the team’s upcoming fire truck ride back into Glen Ellyn.
Truthfully, the fire trucks were all Bruere seemed to be thinking about.
